The epitome of graphic design is to understand the nuances that define a campaign and then to group those moments into one simple abstraction that is instantly recognizable and memorable. That iconic symbol then becomes the common message – woven into the fabric of every campaign.

Political Campaign Graphics

Design plays a critical role in voter turnout for every campaign. In its technical simplicity, it reminds the voter of their responsibility to vote, and, when it is time to cast their ballot, it reminds them of who or what to vote for. A simple check mark represents more than a choice, it marks an action that will change our future. It expands far beyond a simple mark in a box to fills that infinite space in our minds and hearts that represents our life. It becomes an icon. It’s a striking choice that designs perfectly into campaign buttons, bumper stickers, yard signs and posters. Place a red check mark in a white box and it represents authority, a symbol that becomes recognizable on the side of the road when you drive by, and is instantly recognizable and memorable.

Throughout every campaign, print media that I design always involves a combination of trifold brochures, flyers, images for newspaper advertising, door hangers and yard signs. The importance as a designer here is to make a logo instantly recognizable so that it can be used in many different media.
